Nature has a silent yet unerring law: When a flower reaches its point of perfection and radiates its own frequency, the bee arrives without an invitation. This metaphor is not just a romantic observation of nature; it is physical proof of the universal mechanism that ancient wisdom and spiritual teachings have explained for centuries through the concepts of “Like Attracts Like,” “Resonance,” and “Merit” (Liyakat). The blooming of the flower is a state of “readiness”; the arrival of the bee is the automatic universal response to this state. This reflects the intricate dance of Merit and Evolution in the natural world.
But how does this mechanism work technically in our lives, our invisible energy fields, and our destiny?
Our Invisible Signature: The Law of Resonance and Merit
Understanding the Harmony of Merit and Evolution
The relationship between these concepts offers deep insights into our personal development and interactions.
We must begin by understanding that nothing in the universe is random. Master Ergün Arıkdal, in his work Positive Living, emphasizes a truth revealed by metapsychical research: According to the law of universal resonance, if we maintain a negative attitude, we attract events, difficulties, and negative influences of that same frequency into our lives. Our thoughts, emotions, and intentions are vibrations emanating from the brain, forming a Magnetic Field.
According to spiritual teachings, this “mental broadcast” is our invisible signature. P.D. Ouspensky states that unless a “Magnetic Center” is formed within a person, they will remain lost in the chaos of life. Merit is not a medal awarded from the outside; it is the technical equivalent of which “station” in the universe our broadcast attracts.
Expanding on this from a deeper cosmic perspective, Dr. Bedri Ruhselman, in the knowledge corpus The Divine Order and the Universe, states that influences descending into the Earth’s magnetic field do not arrive randomly but according to a plan. Under the Laws of Divine Will, the events we experience are milimetrical responses to the magnetic call we emit. Merit is “the power to perform a new duty, earned through effort.”
“Cehit” and Conscious Labor: Exiting Mechanicalness
“Blooming”—increasing our frequency and merit—does not happen through mere wishing; it requires “Cehit” (Supreme Effort). However, there is a fine distinction: (Also read: Patience And Growth)
- Conscious Labor vs. Mechanical Effort: According to Gurdjieff, the tasks we do under the compulsion of life (jobs, mandatory duties) are mechanical efforts and do not develop us spiritually. Development only begins when one stands against their own mechanicalness through “Conscious Labor.” When you are at the point of exhaustion and continue through will, a new energy reservoir opens.
- Sacrificing Suffering: One of the most startling efforts is “sacrificing our suffering.” Maurice Nicoll notes that humans cling tightly to their misery and victimhood. Giving up negative emotions and self-pity requires supreme effort and purifies the being.
- Inner Stop: Instead of a mechanical reaction (anger, resentment) to a negative event, saying “Inner Stop”—halting the reaction and transforming the energy within—is the strongest shield for our magnetic field.
Two Faces of Conscience: Which One Are We Listening To?
The most important compass determining our merit is conscience. But spiritual teachings warn us: Which conscience?
- Acquired Conscience vs. Real Conscience: Ouspensky and Gurdjieff speak of an “Acquired Conscience” (Buffers) that comes from society and family, which is constantly changing. This can mislead us. The goal is to awaken the “Buried Conscience” (Real Conscience) that is the same in everyone and hidden deep within the soul.
- Sense of Duty: According to Ruhselman, real conscience is a scale, with one end looking at “egoism” (self-interest) and the other at the “Sense of Duty.” Merit increases when we use our will toward duty that serves the whole. As Silver Birch said: “As you serve, so shall you be served.”
The State of Readiness: Clearing the Garden
“When flowers bloom, the bees come” summarizes the automatic operation of spiritual aid; but the critical point is creating a clean space where the aid can land. “Readiness” is not passive waiting; it is an active process of weeding and cleaning within one’s “mental garden.” A bee cannot land in a garden full of thorns and trash.
This preparation process involves three main obstacles:
- “Miasma” (The Foul Odor): Just as a bee avoids a flower emitting toxic gas, spiritual help cannot approach a polluted aura. Silver Birch notes that fear, anxiety, and despair create a “Miasma” (a heavy fog/mist). Readiness is first purifying our mental atmosphere of this scent of anxiety.
- “Weeds” (Negative Emotions): As Maurice Nicoll stated, “Whether you plant nettles or thyme… the fertility of the garden is in your hands.” The negative emotions emphasized by Gurdjieff and Ouspensky (jealousy, anger, self-pity) are dangerous weeds that stifle the delicate flowers of spiritual growth.
- “The Dirty Machine” (Residues): Gurdjieff told his students: “The main point you forget is that you do not start with a clean machine. The machine is dirty, it is rusty.” Readiness begins with clearing the lies we tell ourselves and the vanity of “thinking we know.”
CONCLUSION: Look at the Garden Before Blaming the Bee
Ultimately, “blooming” is part of a universal plan of “Unity” and “Service.” The soul-shaking truth is this: There is no error in the system; the error is in our understanding of “preparation.”
Help does not come to do our job for us; it comes to add strength to our effort.
Can you dare to ask yourself this question? Could the reason the miracle you’re waiting for hasn’t arrived be that the door to your garden is blocked by the “trash” of fear and negativity? While you say “I am ready,” have you left a single clean, orderly space where help can land?
Remember: The bee does not go to a junkyard; it goes to a flower. Cleaning the garden is the duty of the gardener—you.
